Free voices: condemns the deliberate targeting of journalists in Yemen and considers it a war crime

Condemns the free voices organization to independent media, the systematic targeting of Arab coalition planes led by Saudi Arabia on the Yemeni media crews, where allied warplanes on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 by bombing Hodeidah Governorate, which claimed the lives of the journalist Abed Abdullah Hamza, chief editor of the truth, and targeted the morning of Thursday, 8 February 2018 Channel photographer arenas, Abdullah Abdul Fattah Al-montser.

The free voices condemns the repeated targeting journalists in Yemen, and calls on all parties to neutralize the journalists about the war in the country, and calls for the Saudi alliance to refrain from the use of excessive and indiscriminate force in the war, which claim the lives of many civilians, including journalists who covered the noble duty of conflicts and humanitarian crisis in the country, and holds the Saudi alliance is responsible for the safety of journalists. The organization appeals to the international community to pressure the Saudi alliance in order to compel the application of international conventions dealing with the protection of the safety of journalists And workers in the media, especially article 79 of Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 on measures for the protection of journalists, the decision A/HRC/33/L6 adopted by the Human Rights Council adopted unanimously at the recent regular session, and the resolutions of the Security Council No. 21/12 and13/24 on the protection of journalists in conflict zones. The organization also appeals to the freedoms in the United Nations to exercise the necessary pressure to put an end to this condemnation of violations against journalists and press freedoms in Yemen.

The organization calls on the lifting of the embargo on the country and allowing foreign reporters To enter Yemen in order to cover up the truth and the reality of the humanitarian crisis and consequences of war and internal strife.

It also calls for international organizations which mourns the rights of journalists to take the necessary measures to put an end to this condemnation of violations against journalists and press freedoms in Yemen.
