Yemen Petroleum Company Employees Continue for 363rd day Protesting in Front of UN Office

The employees of the Yemeni Oil Company, its unions and their affiliated organizations organized a protest stand today in front of the United Nations office in Sana’a, on Friday, entitled “The siege and aggression is more deadly than all epidemics.” During the vigil, the company’s spokesperson, Amin Al-Shabati, explained that the aggression alliance is still holding 13 oil ships loaded with more than three hundred thousand tons of petroleum products in light of the great need for them at home.

Al-Shabati said that the Yemeni people had not seen any positive impact of the United Nations despite the lapse of one year since the sit-in of the Yemeni Oil Company employees and the agents of the stations in front of its office in Sana’a.

Al-Shabati demanded the United Nations to carry out its humanitarian duty and bear the responsibility which its laws dictate to the Yemeni people. The statement issued by the endowment confirmed the continuation of the open sit-in and the organization of protest vigils in front of the United Nations office in Sana’a until all the legitimate conditions of the sit-in were met, which represent the demands of all the Yemeni people.

The statement renewed the demand of the United Nations to put pressure on the coalition of aggression and the release of detained oil ships, and to ensure that it will not be seized in the future. The statement also called on the United Nations to lift the embargo on Sanaa International Airport and Ras Issa port and to neutralize the economy from targeting.

It is noteworthy that the day’s protest comes within the framework of the open sit-in carried out by the employees of the Yemeni Oil Company, its unions and its bodies for “363 days” in front of the United Nations office in Sanaa.
