US Navy Admits Death of Soldiers Missing 10 Days Ago in the Gulf of Aden

Two US Navy SEALs who went missing in the Gulf of Aden earlier this month were declared dead, military officials said on Sunday.

“We regret to announce that after a 10-day exhaustive search, our two missing US Navy SEALs have not been located and their status has been changed to deceased,” the US Central Command said on X.

On January 13, the US Central Command acknowledged the missing of two US Navy SEALs while conducting operations on Thursday, January 11, off the coast of Somalia.

The Central Command stated in a statement that search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate the sailors, noting that they were “deployed at the forefront in the operations area of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet” and that they were “supporting a wide range of missions.”

Washington added that the loss of these soldiers occurred amid US escalation in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea in an attempt to break the Yemeni blockade on Zionist ships, as it claimed.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on January 10th that they targeted an American ship providing support to the Zionist entity in the Red Sea.

The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier Yahya Sare’e, stated in a statement that the attack was carried out by a joint operation of the Naval Forces, Missile Force, and Air Force. He added that the attack was an initial response to the treacherous aggression that the Yemeni Naval Forces faced from the US forces in December last year.

The statement confirmed that the Armed Forces would not hesitate to deal appropriately with all hostile threats within the legitimate right to defend their country, people, and nation. It emphasized that the Armed Forces would continue to prevent Israeli ships from heading to the ports of occupied Palestine until the aggression stops and the blockade is lifted on Gaza.

The US Central Command described the Yemeni attack in a statement as “sophisticated,” indicating the effectiveness of the attack and its inability to counter the widespread assault, involving dozens of drones and missiles.

This military operation by the Armed Forces serves as an initial response to the killing and loss of 10 members of the Naval Forces after the US forces attacked three boats belonging to the Yemeni Navy at the end of December.
