UN Security Council discusses Israeli escalation against Gaza

The UN Security Council will hold an urgent meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which left dozens of martyrs and wounded most of them civilians.

This meeting is called for by France and China, the permanent members of the Security Council, and the UAE, a non-permanent member, to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip.

This came at a time when the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, called on the Security Council to intervene immediately to stop the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.

Abbas discussed with the Russian special envoy for the peace process in the Middle East, Vladimir Safrenkov, the latest developments in the situation and the dangerous and continuous Israeli escalation in all Palestinian territories.

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to “intervene urgently to stop these repeated and systematic criminal attacks and to enforce respect for the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.”
