Number of fishing boats sink in Shabwah

A number of fishing boats in Bir Ali area, east of Shabwah province, sank on Sunday due to strong winds that hit the Arabian Sea coast.

Local residents in the coastal district of Rudum said that the strong winds hit the Bir Ali area and caused significant damage to fishermen whose boats were overturned and sank.

Residents added that the area “Bir Ali” is one of the best safe anchors for boats, but the strong winds caused the sinking of two boats and the fishermen were not able to save the equipment and boats.
