One killed , 15 wounded in explosion at mosque in Afghanistan

At least one person was killed and 15 others wounded in a blast on Friday afternoon at the gate of a mosque in Qala-e-New, the capital in Badghis province, bordering Turkmenistan, officials said.

According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred as worshippers left the mosque after Friday prayers.

Baz Mohammad Sarwari of Badghis province said the cause of the explosion is unknown but investigations are ongoing, the Washington post reported.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion.
