A Training Course For 35 Trainees On The International Refugee Conventions

A training course to introduce international conventions for refugee was concluded, on Wednesday,  in Sana’a, organized by the Center for Studies and Migration for Refugees at Sana’a University in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Yemen.

The two-day course aimed at introducing 35 male and female trainees from the Civil Status and Civil Registry Department to the 1951 refugee agreements and the 1967 protocol, as well as the international refugee system.

At the conclusion of the course, the head of the Civil Status and Civil Registry Department, Major General Mohammed Abdul Azim Al-Hakim, pointed out the importance of organizing such courses to familiarize its members with international agreements on asylum and how to deal with them.

For his part, Director of the Center for Refugee Studies at Sana’a University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Emad urged the participants to benefit from the course’s topics, which included lectures by a group of specialists on international agreements on refugee.
