Two assassinations hit Aden

The assassinations in the southern port city of Aden escalated on Wednesday, in a sign that the province, which has not yet recovered from the nightmare of kidnapping girls, has entered a dangerous direction.

In the past 24 hours, the city has recorded two assassinations cases, raising the toll since Tuesday to three.

Local sources said two people were killed, one on a tour of Al-Khathiry roundabout and the other in the Sheikh Othman market.

Among the dead was a national security officer, Abdul Qadir al-Dhaif al-Ja’adani, a graduate of King Fahd Security College. Al-Ja’adani was transferring large sums of money while he was passing through Mansoura ].

Al-Ja’adani’s assassination is in addition to an earlier operation carried out by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias  forces in Aden, which targeted the removal of new buildings on the hills overlooking Aden after reports that Tarek Saleh had deployed  snipers there in preparation for the overthrowing the city from inside.

The latest moves are reinforced by reports of a split within the STC period between a pro-Tariq movement and a pro-secession movement, according to the head of the transitional external department Ahmed Omar Bin Farid.
