Meteorology expects light rain accompanied by thunderstorms in several governorates

The National Center for Meteorology expected thundershowers to continue in separate areas in several Yemeni governorates, and active winds on the coasts that cause sea turbulence during the next 24 hours.

The center said in its weather bulletin on Friday, that a light to moderate intensity rain accompanied by thunderstorms would continue in separate areas of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Mahwit, Dhamar, Taiz, Hajjah, Raymah, Ibb, Dhalea and Lahj.

The center did not rule out that the rains will extend east to include parts of the governorates of Jawf, Marib, Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa and Hadramout Plateau.

“Active to strong winds ranging between 20-35 knots would possibly occur over the southern Red Sea, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden,” the center said.

The center called on citizens in the areas where rain expected not to be in the valleys and torrential passages during and after the rains, and to take shelter from thunderstorms.
