FM: Comments on European Union Statement, Describes It As Biased

Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf, commented on the statement of the Council of the European Union on the war against Yemen, describing the statement as biased and representing the American agenda.

Minister Sharaf said, in a statement to Almasirah, Tuesday, that “the European position is not independent and is merely an echo of the American position.”

He considered the European statement’s description of Salvation government’s demands, which are the rights of the Yemeni people, as extremist is absurd.

Sharaf stressed that the calm sought by the European side will only be achieved by stopping the aggression, lifting the siege, and recognizing the basic rights of the Yemenis.

The Foreign Minister praised the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of the people of Yemen, explaining that Iran is the only country that has stood by the Yeme as the country faces aggression and siege.

At least 3,774 children have been killed in Yemen’s war between March 2015 and September 2022, UNICEF said on Monday, a week after it launched a multibillion-dollar global funding drive.

According to the latest statistics published by UNICEF, a further 7,245 children had been maimed in the conflict.
“The urgent renewal of the truce would be a positive first step that would allow critical humanitarian access,” Executive Director Catherine Russell said.
