Water Corporation Condemns Saudi Targeting Drinking of Water Networks, Facilities

The Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the capital, Sana’a, condemned the US-Saudi targeting of drinking water and sewage networks. In a statement, the Corporation stated that main line connecting the water network in Al-Zubayri street with Baghdad street was targeted, which led to significant damage to the network and the cessation of pumping drinking water to citizens in all neighborhoods and lanes of the Baghdad and Al-Zubayri.

It stressed that targeting the service and vital sectors, including the water sector – which is the main source of lifeline – and insisting on depriving millions of citizens of drinking water, reflects the criminality and ugliness of aggression, and its stripping of all humanitarian and moral values and principles.

The statement noted that the aggression’s targeting of the infrastructure of the water and sanitation sector will not discourage the institution from performing its tasks and responsibilities in improving its services and expanding water projects, to alleviate the suffering of citizens as a result of the aggression and the siege.

The Corporation appealed to the United Nations and the international community for responsible intervention and pressure on the coalition of aggression towards stopping its aggression against civilians and vital and service facilities that are linked to the lives of millions of Yemeni people.
