Protest vigil in Sanaa calls for lifting siege, stopping war on Yemen

The Industry and Trade Office, the Syndicate of Bakeries, and the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs in the capital Sanaa on Monday called on the United Nations and international, regional, Arab and local organizations to intervene quickly to lift the siege and stop the war on Yemen.

Statements, issued by the participants in the vigil held in front of the UN office in Sanaa, denounced the continuation of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition to hold oil derivatives ships and prevent them from entering the port of Hodeida, despite obtaining entry permits.

During the vigil, Deputy Director of the Industry and Trade Office, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sufyani, confirmed that the blockade and the lack of oil derivatives led to the suspension of most industrial and commercial establishments and the disruption of economic and service activities and food and drug supplies.

He held the United Nations fully and legally responsible for the catastrophic results of the detention of fuel ships, calling for pressuring the coalition to allow the ships to enter the port of Hodeida and not hold them in the future.

For his part, Director of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, Muhammad Al-Shahari, indicated that the coalition caused the destruction and burning of more than 365 fuel tankers, 8,483 means of transportation, 884 food trucks, 15 airports, 16 ports, 100 bridges, and many roads at long of 5,749 kilometers.
