Unknown gunmen on Thursday night assassinated a prominent tribal sheikh in the Southern port city of Aden, local sources reported.
According to the Local sources, the gunmen on a car opened fire at tribal sheikh Saleh Jaeim al-Sha’ajari in the Enma residential town of Al-Buriqah district, killing him instantly.
The gunmen fled the scene to unknown destination, one of the sources said.
Sheikh Al-Sha’ajari is one of the most prominent sheikhs of Shabwah province and a tribal reference for the people of the province.
Aden has witnessed three separate assassinations in the past 24 hours, while a fourth person survived a failed assassination attempt.
The city been witnessing a state of insecurity and overwhelming chaos, amid growing amounts of assassination and kidnapping in the city.
