Turkey records highest rise of Coronavirus infections

The Turkish Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that it has recorded 1,813 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) marking the highest rise in the daily case index since May 8th.

 

The Turkish Ministry reported, in a daily statistic, that the overall number of people infected with the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country in the past 24 hours has increased by 1,815, reaching the level of 347,493.

 

The toll is the largest in Turkey since May 8, and indicates a steady rise in the index of Covid-19 infections recorded on during that past four days of October .

According to the Ministry of Health, the death toll from the virus reached 9,296, up from 72 new cases, compared with 66 on October 15th, 73 on October 16th and 71 on October 17th.

 

It announced the recovery of 1,504 patients, bringing the number of people recovering from the coronavirus in the country to 304,003.

 

Turkey has been experiencing significant increases in the  infections and daily deaths for weeks, sparking controversy in the country over the need to restore public restrictions to halt the rapid spread of the disease.
