Coronavirus deaths rise in China to 3,237

Chinese health authorities reported Tuesday 11 new coronavirus deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 3,237.

They also announced that only 16 new infections had been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the number to 80,894.

“We have received reports of 16 new confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland, bringing the total to 80,881,” the National Health Commission said in a statement.

According to the Commission, 11 people died of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths to 3,237 across the country.

South Korea also reported 93 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 8,413.
